Years 3 & 4 put on a production of The Tempest tonight and everyone there agreed that it was more like watching a stage school in action than a school play! The singing was extraordinary and all the children knew just where they had to be and when.
We're proud as punch of you all.
Sunday 30 June 2019
Our first Community Environment Day was really rather good! Lots of people came along to meet Troy, Tia and Peanut (the Birds of Prey), Mango Cresswell (a tortoise), Shelly, Scooter, Strudle and Skittle (the Giant African Land Snails) and all of their as yet unhatched eggs. We had an amazing array of moths which I must confess are far more interesting that I for one had expected. There are now gazillions more grass heads and seed bombs in the world and we have prooved once again that as a community, we can eat an awful lot of cake!
Thank you so much to the Steeple Bumpstead Environmental Group who came along and shared their time and expertise with us. We have raised almost £400 which we will be putting to very good use in improving the pond area and outside equipment over the summer.
Sunday 23 June 2019
Our brilliant cross country runners took part in the Steeple Bumpstead 3k fun run. They ran fast and as ever, we were very proud of them!

Year 3 had an AMAZING day at Harry Potter World. Fortunately the muggles were there to take the photos!
Friday 26 April 2019
Our runners did us proud yet again today with Year 3 and 4 girls competing in the Essex Cross Country Finals. The girls had qualified to take part just before Easter and today saw them running their socks off at Hadleigh, South Benfleet.
There were over 140 runners in the Year 4 girls race and Bella Vanweede came 44th which was an amazing achievement.
The Year 3 girls race had over 100 runners and our girls performed brilliantly - it takes great grit and determination to run in these events and they were quite rightly, very pleased with themselves.
Well done girls!
Friday 5 April 2019
In the last few weeks, 3 pupils from Year 4 were selling donated second hand school uniform at the front of school in order to raise some cash for classroom resources.
Over the two weeks, Eve, George and Evie managed to raise £28.84. They counted the money themselves, filled in the paying in slip and here they are paying in the money at the bank!
Thursday 4 April 2019
Our runners were on brilliant form as ever in the Essex Cross Country Competition. Everyone did well and the Year 3 & 4 girls did particularly well and have qualified for the final at the end of April. Watch this space for more news!
Friday 9 November 2018
Dan Hodge from Year 5 composed this very moving poem which was read out in our Remembrance Day Assembly today.
Wednesday 7 November 2018
Our football team took part in a schools tournament today and came 4th in the final.
Mrs Hailes said they had shown great team spirit, resilience and determination. Well done team!
